Release notes 5.5

MedDream DICOM Viewer v5.5 (2017-01-19)

New features:

– Possibility to share studies to DICOM Library;
– Configurable links to external systems;
– A new workflow for the Calibration function;
– Circle graphic type support for annotations;
– Under Linux, requires FFmpeg with “subfile” protocol support (since 2014-03-08).

HTML DICOM Viewer features:

– Possibility to create a report for a study;
– Added the Magnifier tool;
– Added Color Channels;
– Added the Lock Scroll function;
– Added possibility to print an active image.


– Using HIS integration (?patient=Patient ID) search founds only one week studies. Needs to find all studies as in old flash search version;
– Blank screen is opened if study is opened from search;
– After MPR creation the toolbar in the MPR window disappears;
– Translation sometimes do not change after language selection;
– Not possible to re-brand name of the Search window;
– dcm4chee-ARC does not check if user is “root”;
– Activation by serial does not work on IE11;
– Reference line tool returns an error while scrolling through image series;
– Reference line can not be selected after MPR creation;
– Multi-frame speed slider cannot be moved for US modality studies;
– Reference line is not refreshed if image is not cached;
– Some MPEG4 High Profile videos are not supported;
– Redirect from HTML DICOM Viewer to Flash if unsupported web browser is used (IE8, IE9);
– Tablet: scroll-bar does not work.

Known bugs:

– Some images invisible as Modality LUT is incorrectly applied after VOI LUT;
– Mobile version doesn’t log off properly when closing the browser window;
– Abort of a background operation delayed with large images and nonzero meddream.retrieve_entire_study;
– HTML DICOMViewer displays some color images as greyscale;
– PHP runs out of memory when opening some big Breast Tomosynthesis studies;
– A bug in GDCM causes mdc.exe to consume a lot of memory.

Versions older than two years are no longer supported. Supported versions are only from 5.5.2 and later.
