Orthanc: an open-source DICOM server for healthcare

Orthanc is an open-source, lightweight DICOM server for healthcare and medical research. Orthanc aims at providing a simple, yet powerful standalone DICOM server. It is designed to improve the DICOM flows in hospitals and to support about the automated analysis of medical images. Orthanc lets its users focus on the content of the DICOM files, hiding the complexity of the DICOM format and of the DICOM protocol. Orthanc architecture is lightweight and standalone, meaning that no complex database administration is required, nor the installation of third-party dependencies.

Orthanc PACS could be integrated with multiple viewers, including MedDream DICOM Viewer, which is ready to integrate html5 zero-footprint DICOM Viewer. MedDream is white label, certified (FDA cleared, CE IIb class certified, IHE XDS-I.b supported), customizable and cost effective solution.

DICOM VIEWER INTEGRATION INTO DICOM Server

As a diagnostic image viewer, MedDream consists of a Viewer component, which runs in a browser and does not require any installation on the client device, and a MedDream application server, which handles communication with the healthcare DICOM server/PACS/VNA or any other medical system and prepares images for streaming to the MedDream DICOM Viewer.

MedDream, as an open source friendly DICOM Viewer, uses a flexible and open integration interface for connecting to DICOM Server or PACS systems primarily based on URL calls, thus allowing it to be integrated into any medical application.

MedDream DICOM Viewer can be integrated into any DICOM server or PACS/VNA system including: Orthanc PACS, Google Healthcare Cloud, MedDream PACS, PacsOne PACS Server, dcm4chee PACS,  Conquest DICOM Software, ClearCanvas, etc.

MedDream also supports MultiPACS by PACS plugins: dcm4chee v2, dcm4chee v5, Orthanc, PacsOne, DICOM QueryRetrieve, FileSystem.

MedDream supports Cross-enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I.b) profile as DOCUMENT CONSUMER (ITI-18, ITI-43, RAD-16, RAD-55, RAD-69 transactions).
